Benjamin Burke is an artist, poet, performer, director, designer, and story engineer whose unusual international work directly informs projects within his local community in Oakland, California. Favoring explorative simplicity and a variety of mediums, Burke fashions inventive compositions by fusing the necessary with the unexpected to bring focus, humor and fascination to overlooked or disregarded phenomena and behaviors. Telegraphing his unique perspective via kinetic sculptures, experimental films, illustrations, written words and performances, Burke offers audiences an alternate route to understanding the way our worlds are put together and how they might be repaired when they break.

He holds a bachelor of science in Universal Design, a self-directed major which combines fine art, graphic design, costume design, photography, landscape architecture and early childhood education.
